Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to MacSec Labs, including the course modules, labs, source code, downloads, and related materials. By using the Platform, creating an account, or purchasing access, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Authorized security education

MacSec Labs is a paid training platform for macOS security researchers, red teamers, penetration testers, and security engineers. The material is provided for education, defensive research, and lawful authorized testing only.

You may use the techniques and code only in environments you own, lab systems you control, or client environments where you have explicit written authorization. You are responsible for ensuring that your use is legal, authorized, and appropriate for your jurisdiction and engagement.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
You must provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in access secure.
Accounts are issued to one individual and may not be shared, resold, transferred, or used by multiple people.
Notify us at hello@macseclabs.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. License to use the material

A purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view the course material and use the provided code for your own authorized learning, research, and internal security work. We retain all ownership rights in the Platform and its content.

You may not:

Copy, mirror, publish, redistribute, or resell Platform content.
Share lab files, source code, module text, screenshots, or downloads outside your own authorized use.
Use the material to build a competing course, training product, or redistributed derivative work.
Remove attribution, notices, markings, or access controls.

4. Purchases, refunds, and roadmap

Course access is sold as a digital product. A course purchase includes lifetime access to its course modules and downloadable course materials, subject to account standing and normal platform maintenance. All Access also includes new courses as they are released, as stated in its offer.

Seven-day refund policy. You may request a voluntary refund within seven days of the completed payment by writing to hello@macseclabs.com with your purchase email and payment reference. Routine refunds are not offered after that period. This does not limit rights or remedies that cannot be waived under applicable law, including remedies for failure to provide a material advertised benefit.
No guaranteed outcomes. The Platform is educational. We do not guarantee a job, certification, assessment result, specific skill level, or that a technique will work in every environment.
Roadmap may change. The curriculum may be expanded, reordered, revised, or retired as macOS changes and the Platform evolves. A roadmap item is not a promise of delivery by a specific date unless we explicitly state otherwise.
Payment disputes. Fraudulent payments, stolen payment methods, or bad-faith chargebacks may result in account termination and denial of future access.

5. Managed labs and practical exams

Where a course includes managed browser lab time or a practical exam attempt, those hosted services are complimentary and provided at no additional charge. Their availability is separate from lifetime access to purchased course modules and downloadable materials. The hours, attempts, and validity stated in the applicable course offer remain part of that offer, subject to these Terms.

Managed labs and exam booking may be changed, paused, or temporarily unavailable, including without advance notice when necessary, because of maintenance, hardware availability or procurement, capacity, security, platform validation, or other operational needs. We will provide notice when reasonably practical. Exam dates are posted as booking slots become available. If a prolonged interruption prevents you from using an advertised benefit, contact hello@macseclabs.com so we can review an appropriate remedy. Your rights under applicable law remain unaffected.

An included exam attempt normally has 180 days of eligibility, subject to the course-specific offer and booking rules. If MacSec Labs' exam unavailability prevents you from booking or using that attempt during the eligibility period, we will extend the period so you do not lose the attempt for that reason. An exam attempt cancelled by MacSec Labs for operational reasons will not be consumed. The exam eligibility period does not limit lifetime access to purchased course content. Separately purchased lab-hour packs and exam attempts are paid products governed by their stated purchase terms.

6. Acceptable use

Use of the Platform is also governed by the Acceptable Use Policy. It prohibits unauthorized activity, content scraping, account sharing, platform abuse, and misuse of the training material.

7. Intellectual property

The Platform, curriculum, module text, code samples, design, branding, and downloadable materials are owned by MacSec Labs or its author and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The material is original work grounded in primary sources, platform behavior, and published research. Nothing in these Terms grants rights to our trademarks, branding, or proprietary content.

8. Monitoring and enforcement

We may monitor Platform usage to protect the service, enforce these Terms, prevent scraping, detect account sharing, and investigate abuse. We may suspend or terminate access without refund if we reasonably believe these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy have been violated.

Unauthorized use of the Platform, attempts to attack the Platform, credential sharing, content theft, or use of the material against systems without permission can result in permanent loss of access and denial of future accounts.

9. No professional advice

The Platform provides educational security training. It does not provide legal, compliance, operational, or professional advice for your specific situation. You are responsible for your own authorization, engagement scope, testing decisions, and legal obligations.

10. No warranty

The Platform and all materials are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any technique will work in your environment.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MacSec Labs and its author will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for misuse of the Platform, techniques, or code.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MacSec Labs and its author from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your unauthorized or unlawful use of the material.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised Terms. The latest update date appears at the top of this page.
